Read More. Dual Diagnosis Meetings Expand to Three Times Weekly Tri-County continues to expand its program for patients fighting mental illness and substance abuse. The first such program in Missouri, the effort now includes three support meetings each week. Read More. NAMI Program To Begin at Tri-County The Family-To-Family 12-week education and support program begins in September to offer help for parents, siblings, other family members and significant others of persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Meetings at TCMHS Family Support Group: 6 to 7:30 p.m., the first Wednesday of each month in the meeting room of Tri-County's offices. Monthly speakers on relevant topics. The Recovery Works Dual Recovery Treatment Group meets at Tri-County Mental Health Services locations three times each week. Tri-County Board of Directors: 4:30 p.m., the fourth Monday of each month, Room 140, Tri-County offices. Aging and Mental Health Coalition of Kansas City North: 2:30-3:30 p.m., fourth Thursday of each month, second floor conference room, Tri-County. Especially focused to offer speakers and information for service providers and those interested in the older adult community of the Northland. Tri-County Older Adult Services provides free screening, presentations and other services. For more information, contact Lynn Vanderweel at (816) 877-0485 or e-mail lynnv@tri-countymhs.org. The Northland Coalition and its affiliate community chapters sponsored by Tri-County Mental Health meet monthly throughout the area. The parent group Northland Coalition meets at 11:30 am on the third Wednesday of each month in the second floor conference room of Tri-County. Individual community groups meet in locations throughout Clay, Platte and Ray counties. To become involved in your local prevention efforts, please contact Laura Bruce at (816) 877-0498.
