Kansas City Mayor Sly James has named Tri-County Mental Health Services CEO Tom Cranshaw to another term on the Kansas City Health Commission.
Originally named to the group seven years ago, Tom serves as vice chair and a member of the executive committee for the commission. Mayor James also appointed Landon Rowland and Councilman Michael Brookes, co-chairs.
Cranshaw serves as chairman of the Metro Council of Mental Health Centers; Chairman of CommCare, a consortium of Community Mental Health Centers in the Kansas City area; Treasurer of Swope Ridge Geriatric Center and Chairman of Triality, a developmental disability organization.
The Health Commission was formed in April 2001, to provide structure and oversight for the development of a community health improvement plan for Kansas City, launch a community-wide collaborative effort to develop a metro-wide community health improvement plan and to provide citizen guidance in support of the KC health levy. It became permanent in 2006 as a formal advisory body for the city.
