Staff at Tri-County Mental Health Services recently gathered for final planning of the sixth annual Heart and Sole 5K Run/Walk May 6, which will raise awareness and reduce stigma for children and families challenged with mental illness. Run/Walk To Benefit Children’s Services

Final planning is nearly completed for the sixth annual Heart and Sole 5K Run/Walk May 6 at Happy Rock Park, 7600 NE Antioch Rd., Gladstone.

The event supports the Children's Services Holiday Fund for Tri-County Mental Health Services, a nonprofit organization. The run/walk is a fun way for community members to help raise awareness and reduce stigma for children and families challenged with mental illness.

Registration and check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. Runners start at 8:30 a.m. followed shortly after by walkers. A 50-yard-dash Kids Run will be held at 9:30 a.m.

All events are held on the asphalt trail through the Maple Woods forest. Race Day Timing Solutions will help make this a fun and timed event and the top male and female runners will receive a $75, $50 or $25 gift card to use at Zona Rosa.
