Help Needed for Northland Priorities, Programs

The Northland Coalition, a group of volunteer advocates working to combat violence and substance abuse with the support of Tri-County Mental Health Services (TCMHS), is reaching out to area residents to complete a brief survey reflecting the community’s concerns and how the coalition can best address them.

The survey is open to any adult 18 years of age and older who lives or works in Clay, Platte and Ray counties. Those completing the survey will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for $25 gift cards.

“The Northland Coalition community volunteers work diligently to address community issues in order to make our communities safer and substance-abuse free,” Laura Bruce said. Bruce is the TCMHS Prevention Program Development Specialist.  “This survey will help us prioritize the communities’ concerns and let us know how effectively our current programs are working, as well as what future programs and legislative efforts we should focus on.”

The survey can be accessed at, or on the Northland Coalition’s website at as well as their Facebook page.  In addition, a link to the survey is being sent via a mass e-mailing to the coalition’s database.
