The Northland Coalition (NC) recently awarded their Commitment to Prevention Award to Kathleen Welton, Healthy Children & Youth Manager for Clay County Health Center. Laura Bruce, Tri-County Mental Health Services, presented the award to Welton at the Northland Coalition’s Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and Prevention Conference held Feb. 25 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty.
The coalition, which serves Clay, Platte and Ray counties with the support of Tri-County Mental Health Services, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Welton, who has worked with the Coalition since its inception, served as its president from 2003-2004.
In presenting the award, Bruce touted Welton’s dedication and continuous commitment to the Coalition’s prevention programs. NC has been recognized statewide and nationally for its successful outcomes.
