The Liberty Alliance for Youth, Inc. (LAFYI) hosted a Gateway Drug Forum April 3 at Warren Hill Elementary, 1301 Camille St., Liberty, Mo.

The evening featured a complimentary Italian dinner. followed by a keynote presentation on prescription drugs and their abuse, and workshop presentations on marijuana, tobacco, alcohol and inhalants.

Magician Jim Lysaght entertained young children during the event.

The LAFYI evening was part of the nationwide SAHMSA Town Hall Meeting on underage drinking.

Funding was provided through the Division of Alcohol & Drug Abuse and SAHMSA and technical support was extended by Tri-County Mental Health Services.
