March for Mental Health Planned Sept. 30

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) Greater Kansas City will hold its March for Mental Health Saturday, Sept. 30 beginning at 9 a.m. in Berkley Riverfront Park.

The March for Mental Health is an event for people of all ages! You can walk, or you can lace up your sneakers and go for a run along the 5K course.

The event includes a Mental Health Expo featuring local mental health agencies and health care providers to provide you with valuable information regarding community services. Help make Kansas City a STIGMA FREE city!

The GKC March for Mental Health is proud to partner with National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to support their mission in improving the quality of life for those with a serious mental illness. NAMI-MO offers support, education, and advocacy for those with mental illnesses and their families and friends.

The $25 donation will help advance research and treatment of mental illness, establish support groups, suicide prevention and more. Children under 12 may walk free and do not need to register. For safety reasons, dogs will not be permitted to participate in the Walk, but strollers are welcome.

More information and online sign up is available at this link, http://www.namigkcmarchformentalhealth.org. Registration and payment will also be accepted at the event before the 9 a.m. start.
