Youth Prevention Specialist Joins Tri-County

Sherri Miller has joined Tri-County Mental Health Services as a Youth Prevention Specialist.

Miller will work closely with the members of the nationally recognized Youth With Vision, the student-led prevention advocacy group of the Northland Coalition. The coalition is supported by TCMHS and is composed of volunteer advocates from Clay, Platte and Ray counties.

Miller recently retired after 30 years as a teacher and administrator in education. While living in Liberty, her teaching career began at Oak Park High School and was followed by nine years at Winnetonka High School.

“I was always impressed with the Northland community’s enthusiasm and support for their youth,” Miller said. “As the longtime educator and mother of two teenage daughters, I am very excited to be able to use my years of experience to help Tri-County Mental Health Services and the dedicated young people of Youth With Vision in educating the community about mental health awareness and youth substance abuse.”

“We are so pleased to have Sherri join our prevention team,” Vicky Ward, TCMHS prevention services manager, said. “Her years of dedication to educating youth and her enthusiasm for the work will be valuable assets to our prevention efforts.”
