The trend-setting dual diagnosis program at Tri-County Mental Health Services recently received a boost from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City (HCF).
A recent, $125,000 grant from the foundation will support enhancement of integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance abuse patients. Among the first dual diagnosis programs in Missouri, Tri-County’s effort includes assessments, group therapy and education, individual and family therapy, community support and medication services.
“This allows us to continue and expand work that serves a large number of Kansas City North people,” Tri-County Mental Health CEO Tom Cranshaw explained. “And it’s a nice endorsement from the Health Care Foundation and its team of consulting experts from the field of our program, which continues to be a state leader in serving an area that at one time was not well recognized.”
