New Tri-County Worker Helps with Wellness Effort

Tobi Michaels has joined Tri-County Mental Health Services as nurse liaison.

A Grain Valley resident, Michaels will coordinate Tri-County’s efforts to assist mental health patients with physical issues that often add to their challenges. Collaborating with other Tri-County staff, Michaels will help consumers recognize risks such as diabetes or hypertension and adjust diet or activities to address them.

Michaels earned an associates of applied science in nursing, ADN/RN, from Penn Valley Community College and has served as nurse manager for Comprehensive Mental Health in Independence, as psychiatric nurse at Benilde Hall in Kansas City, and as clinical manager for Midwest Urology, Independence.

Tri-County Mental Health Services, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community mental health agency delivering behavioral health-care to individuals and families residing in Clay, Platte and Ray counties. Last year, Tri-County programs assisted approximately 9,000 area residents while providing prevention services to over 40,000 individuals in concert with some 500 community volunteers.
