Meetings at Tri-County At A Glance

Family Support Group—1st Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the main meeting room, Tri-County Mental Health Services.

NAMI Family Support Group—3rd Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in the lobby conference room, Tri-County Mental Health Services.

Recovery Works for Dual Diagnosis—Monday and Thursday mornings.

Aging and Mental Health Coalition of Kansas City North—4th Thursday of each month, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Upstairs meeting room, Tri-County Mental Health Services. (The November meeting is the 3rd Thursday of the month.) See the 2012 Schedule of meetings and topics.

The Northland Coalition and its affiliate community chapters sponsored by Tri-County Mental Health meet monthly throughout the area. The Northland Coalition meets at 11:30 am on the third Wednesday of each month in the second Floor conference room of Tri-County. Community groups also meet in Excelsior Springs, Missouri City, West Platte, Park Hill, Smithville and Liberty. To get involved in your local prevention efforts, please contact Laura Bruce at (816) 877-0498. Meetings are generally not held in June and July.

TCMHS Board of Directors—the last Monday of each month, 4:30 p.m. in Room 140 at Tri-County.

Support for Families Dealing with Mental Illness

Tri-County sponsors a monthly support group for families facing the challenge of a loved one with a mental illness.

The family support group meets the first Wednesday of each month to provide support and information.

With frequent guest speakers, the discussions include tips and tools for supporting a friend, family member or loved one with mental illness, along with sharing and support from others with similar experiences. Refreshments are served.

Family support meetings are 6 to 7:30 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month, in Room 140 at Tri-County Mental Health Services.

A similar family support group is sponsored at Tri-County and organized by the National Alliance on Mental Illness. This group emphasizes families supporting and providing information for each other. It meets the third Wednesday of the month in the Tri-County lobby conference room, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Recovery Works Dual Recovery Treatment Group meets at Tri-County Mental Health Services Mondays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Recovery Works for Dual Diagnosis

Persons seeking help with mental health issues and substance use problems will find a positive environment.

Monday meetings 11 a.m. to noon are in Room 140 at Tri-County, 3100 NE 83rd Street, Kansas City, North. Thursday meetings 10 to 11 a.m. are at the Lebedun Center, 5866 N.E. Russell Road, Kansas City.

Senior Meetings Every Month

Tri-County sponsors the Aging and Mental Health Coalition of Kansas City North meeting the fourth Thursday of each month, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. See the 2012 Schedule of meetings and topics

Location: Tri-County Mental Health's upstairs conference room in Northland Human Services Building (there will be signs), 3100 NE 83rd Street, Kansas City, MO 64119. (The November and December meetings will be rescheduled for holdiays; call (816) 468-0400 Ext. 153 for more information).

Northland Coalition

The award-winning Northland Coalition and its affiliate community chapters all sponsored by Tri-County Mental Health list the following schedule:

Northland Coalition Meetings: 11:30 am on the third Wednesday of each month in the second Floor conference room of Tri-County.

Excelsior Springs SAFE (Supporting Abuse Free Environments) Coalition: 3-4 pm every third Wednesday of each month in the Excelsior Springs high school library.

Missouri City PERC (Parents and Educators for Responsible Choices): Every fourth Tuesday at 4 pm in the Missouri City School Library

West Platte Community 2000 and Beyond: Every fourth Tuesday at 3:30 pm in the West Platte High School Library.

Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth: 11:30 am every second Monday of January, March, May, September, and November in the Park Hill School District Central Office Building.

Smithville Community 2000: 5:30 pm every fourth Monday of the month at Smithville High School

Liberty Alliance for Youth: 12 pm every second Wednesday at the Liberty School District Central Office.

Community 2000 Annual Calendar

Tri-County Mental Health Services sponsors a continuing range of activities to promote healthy communities combat substance abuse. Many of the activities involve the 15 Community 2000 teams in Clay, Platte and Ray counties.
