POSITION TITLE:  Employment Specialist

REPORTS TO:  Employment Services Supervisor

HOURS:     Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides job skills training, vocational assessments, job development and on-site training for consumers. The Employment Specialist provides employment assistance and support in vocational programs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in preparing persons for successful employment and retention, identifying individual needs and skills.

• Conduct Vocational evaluations, Job Site Assessments, Job Development, Job Coaching, and Follow Along activities.

• Complete all necessary paperwork, including progress notes and Vocational Rehabilitation Forms.

• Maintains knowledge of agency technology programs and/or systems needed to do the job and uses them effectively.

• Provide on-site job analysis, consultation, and recommendations for work site and job modifications when appropriate.

• Instruct person served in job duties and expectations, demonstrate how to do the job, retraining and coaching as needed.

• Advocate and intervene for clients with employers consistent with client needs and abilities.

• Explore and locate new employers for jobs and assessment sites.

• Maintain professional relationships with Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors.

• Transporting person’s served in employee’s vehicle as needed.

• Maintain required billing of $4,000 per month.

• Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Junior College/Technical School required

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• CPR, First Aid, TB Screening required

• Valid driver’s license and car insurance required

• Up to 1 year position related experience required, 1-3 years preferred
