POSITION TITLE: Applications Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management of projects related to clinical documentation development and storage, coordination between ImageNow and PsychConsult, implementation of processes related to remotely generated documents, billing software security, and clinical staff training on imaging and billing software.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify processes for electronic record implementation in the Medical Record area. Seek participation and input from the departments affected and develop meaningful workflows. Create corresponding workflows in ImageNow. Test and then implement these workflows. Implement security within ImageNow. Train new users to assure best possible utilization of the system.

• Design links between PsychConsult and ImageNow as needed.

• Develop and implement processes for remote documentation of clinical activities. Work with CSWs and Vocational Specialists to strengthen and enhance clinical documentation through the use of tablet computers. Provide training to staff on remotely generated documentation.

• Develop and implement business rules for security access for PsychConsult. Maintain access for all staff upon implementation. Modify access for staff changes, changes in duties and other changes as necessary. Work with the agency privacy and security officers to ensure proper privacy and security standards are maintained.

• Maintain CSPP set up in PsychConsult. Develop processes to ensure accurate CSPP assignments.

• Develop and implement a formal training program for new staff utilizing PsychConsult. Provide training for all staff on any changes in PsychConsult programming.

• Design custom documents in PsychConsult as needed. Develop and assist with the development of Crystal Reports that pull information from PsychConsult.

• Provide back-up to the IT Manager for agency hardware and network needs.

• Other duties and/or responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Knowledge and experience in clinical documentation.

• Knowledge and experience in information systems technology and networks. SQL database experience preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in information privacy and security laws and access.

• Knowledge in and the ability to apply the principles of project management, change management, and information systems.

• Demonstrated strong organizational, facilitation, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
